PARENT VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION 2022/2023
Mougins School has made a provision in their 2022-2023 contract with parents to allow them to make a Voluntary Contribution to the School’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA). More than 40 ideas were submitted by students, teachers, and parents and a shortlist consists of 11 ideas were presented on Thursday, November 3 in a Google Meet to vote on. Results of the vote were presented at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on November 24th!

Outdoor furniture - Perfect for socializing, Secondary students proposed outdoor round tables with shade. Three-two meter tables are on order and suitable sun umbrellas are being sourced. Enjoy!
MegaZone - A group of Primary students requested two Giant Jengas, Twister, Giant Legos, Giant Connect Four, wooden blocks, and an outdoor table per above. Sounds like fun! Can adults join?
Fun for Break - A primary student asked for more games and toys to play with during their downtime so thanks to one student's efforts, the kids have a lot of fun in store.
An outdoor jungle gym for the playground was part of this student submission but the process is ongoing to find a suitable supplier and to try and proceed within available budget.
EcoWaste - Carmen Burgues, the Spanish teacher for Secondary and Sixth Form, is also the Eco-Coordinator. She and her team of Eco-Warriors are advancing the school's recycling effort in style. Keep an eye out for these colorful containers!
We were able to fund many new French standard recycling bins and Carmen and her team have ensured they are being used correctly by using posters and lessons to teach the students about recycling.
Protective Gym Flooring - Parent Project. Unfortunately, the Gym Flooring project can’t be delivered this year. The €8000 budget can cover the cost of the flooring but, unfortunately, not the cost of the mechanical roller and storage racks which are also required to make the flooring usable by the School. The full gym flooring solution costs around €25,000, which is significantly out of budget and an increase that can’t be covered by the PTA or School this year or next year. A plan is underway to look at other types of gym flooring ideas, so perhaps a new submission will be made for a different type of solution in 2023/2024.
The Selection Committee has therefore decided to roll it into other winning projects from this year and/or next year that may require additional funding.
