PARENT VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTION 2023/2024

Here are the winners!

Enhancing Our School Community Through PTA Voluntary Contributions

Mougins School proudly offers parents the opportunity to directly contribute to our students' educational experience through voluntary contributions to the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). These funds are vital in supporting innovative projects and initiatives within our school.

At the beginning of each school year, we invite our school community — students, parents, and teachers — to submit project proposals using the official PVC form. Submissions should include detailed research, a realistic scope for completion within the school year, and a well-thought-out budget, including links to necessary items.

Our Selection Committee, composed of students, senior leadership team members, and PTA representatives, diligently reviews and shortlists these ideas. Student participation is central to this process, fostering a vibrant discussion and critical evaluation of each proposal.

Shortlisted projects are showcased by the Project Owner through a one to two-minute presentation in a video call open to all. Online voting opens immediately afterward. The highest-ranked idea(s) with the most votes are selected for implementation.

This initiative enriches our school's offerings and strengthens our community's collaborative spirit. We encourage active participation in this process, fostering a more dynamic and enriched learning environment for our students.

As of 1st November 2023 over 150 families had kindly contributed to the PTA Parent Voluntary Contribution in their School Contract and the PTA therefore has €22,770.17 on account which has been donated this year. Leftover Parent Voluntary Contribution funds from last year will be added to this amount and also be available.

All these funds will be allocated to the winning projects from our 2023/2024 vote except for €4500 which is contractually set aside to cover costs for International Day 2024.

Winners Announced for the PTA Voluntary Contribution Projects for the 2023/2024 Academic Year

We are thrilled to share the outstanding success of our PTA Voluntary Contribution projects for the 2023/2024 school year. This year was a remarkable showcase of creativity and commitment, with 15 innovative project submissions. Seven exceptional projects were shortlisted from these, highlighting the best of what our community can achieve.

The entire school community—students, teachers, and parents—played a crucial role in this process. Your votes made a significant difference! The project owners delivered engaging one to two-minute presentations via video call, accessible to everyone in our community. This was a fantastic opportunity to witness the passion and vision behind each project.

Following these compelling presentations, the voting took place online, allowing everyone to have a say in shaping the future of our school. The projects that captured the hearts and minds of our community have been selected for implementation, marking a significant step forward in enhancing our school environment and student experiences.

Over 130 families kindly contributed to the PTA Parent Voluntary Contribution in their School Contract this year and the School has just transferred to the PTA an amount of €19,950. As per last year, these funds will be kept and managed separately from the PTA Treasury and be available to fund ideas that benefit our students and the Mougins School community.

Students, teachers, staff and parents are now invited to submit their ideas for how the funds should be spent this year. The process for submitting ideas is similar to last year and outlined in detail below. There are a few key changes we wish to highlight:

- We are offering in-person ‘Help Sessions’ which we hope everyone wishing to submit an idea will take advantage of. Please come to see our team on the dates/times listed below so we can discuss your idea and help ensure your idea submission is complete and deliverable in principle.

-     No ideas which require building/ erecting new infrastructure. The school is on protected land so anything that requires drilling into the ground is unlikely to be approved by the authorities. This is very unfortunate but we learnt this from last year.

- We are open for idea submissions for the next 3 weeks and please ensure you use this time to include an accurate budget as this gives us more chance to be able to deliver your idea.

- All students' submission forms should include the contact details of one or more parents who are going to actively help deliver the idea with them if they win.

Courtney Plotnick is the PTA Coordinator – Parent Voluntary Contribution and will initiate the project submission and selection process together with Rhoan Morgan our PTA Vice-President. Both can be reached via their emails below any time.

Thanks to all the families who have contributed to the PTA Parent Voluntary Contribution. For those who haven’t yet, we hope that the ideas and projects selected over the coming months will encourage you to give your support to this worthwhile initiative.

Please read on below for the details and we hope many of you will participate in this exciting opportunity and submit your ideas. We look forward to receiving them!
